Omaha Hi Lo: Basic Outline
Omaha Hi-Lo (also known as Omaha/8 or better) is commonly viewed as one of the most difficult but popular poker games. It is a variation that, even more than normal Omaha poker, aims for action from all levels of players. This is the chief reason why a once invisible variation, has grown in acceptance so rapidly.
Omaha 8 or better starts exactly like a regular game of Omaha. 4 cards are dealt to every player. A sequence of wagering follows where gamblers can wager, check, or fold. 3 cards are handed out, this is called the flop. A further round of wagering ensues. After all the gamblers have either called or folded, an additional card is revealed on the turn. a further round of wagering happens at which point the river card is revealed. The players will have to make the strongest high and low five card hands using the board and hole cards.
This is where a few players often get confused. Contrasted to Texas Holdem, in which the board can be every player’s hand, in Omaha hi/low the player must utilize exactly 3 cards on the board, and precisely two cards from their hand. No more, no less. Unlike regular Omaha, there are two ways a pot might be won: the "high hand" or the "low hand."

The lower hand is more complicated, but really opens up the action.
